(Hong Kong, 8 July 2026) - Man Wah Holdings Limited ("Man Wah Holdings" or the "Group"; HKEX stock code: 1999) is pleased to announce that Dr. Wong Man Li, Chairman of the Group, was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on 1 July, in recognition of his longstanding dedication to the development of industrial & commercial sectors, as well as charity and community service, and his outstanding contributions to Hong Kong's economic prosperity and social harmony.

In 1992, Dr. Wong founded Man Wah Holdings in Hong Kong. Under his leadership over the past three decades, the Group has grown steadily into an internationally renowned Chinese smart home furnishing brand. Its flagship brand “CHEERS” has ranked No. 1 globally in terms of sales volume of recliner sofas for eight consecutive years (2018–2025). Throughout its development, the Group has remained committed to its philosophy of being rooted in Hong Kong, giving back to society, and serving the nation. Man Wah Holdings has actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibilities while promoting Chinese home furnishing brands on the global stage.

Beyond his entrepreneurial achievements, Dr. Wong has actively contributed ideas and insights to the development of Hong Kong's industrial & commercial sectors and devoted himself to serving Hong Kong and supporting charity and community initiatives for many years. Following the serious fire incident at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po earlier this year, Man Wah Holdings promptly launched relief efforts, along with cash donations and supplies with a total value of HK$10 million to provide emergency financial assistance and daily necessities to affected residents, standing together with the community in overcoming the challenges arising from the incident. Since assuming the role of Executive Chairman of the Hong Kong Industrial & Commercial Association (香港工商總會) in 2015, Dr. Wong has been committed in fostering communication and collaboration between the industrial, commercial and various sectors of society, bringing together industry stakeholders and contributing to the steady development of Hong Kong's economy. In addition, as Founding Chairman of Happy Hong Kong Foundation Company Limited (築福香港基金會有限公司), he has long dedicated himself to charitable causes and youth development initiatives. He actively promotes public understanding of national development strategies and major national policies, strengthens citizens' sense of national identity, and advances social inclusion and harmony. Through these efforts, he has made significant contributions to Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, as well as its integration into national development.

The Honours and Awards System of the HKSAR Government aims to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Hong Kong, or have rendered distinguished and devoted community or public service to Hong Kong, or who have personally excelled in their respective fields. The Silver Bauhinia Star is awarded to persons who have taken a leading part in public affairs and/or voluntary work over a long period of time. Dr. Wong's contributions have been widely recognised by the community. He was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) in 2015 and appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2017. The conferment of the Silver Bauhinia Star represents not only the HKSAR Government's high recognition of his dedicated service to Hong Kong, but also the broad acknowledgement of various sectors of society for his outstanding leadership and commitment to public service.
